Mingala is the Burmese word for blessing, the same word that opens every greeting: mingalaba.
We chose it because that is what a good scent does. It marks a moment, welcomes people in and makes an ordinary room feel cared for. Bring intention to the everyday.
At MINGALA, our story begins with a lifelong passion for scent and the remarkable way it can transform how we feel, evoke memories and transport us to places near and far.
Over the years, our travels have taken us across the world, from Burma, Vietnam and Thailand to various parts of Africa and the Middle East. In many of these places, incense is woven into everyday life, with each region offering its own distinctive fragrances, traditions and qualities. From rich, earthy aromas to delicate, complex blends, we discovered a world of scent that we wanted to bring home with us.
But finding that same experience here in the UK was not always easy.
Too often, products that looked beautiful promised far more than they delivered. Some produced little more than smoke, others were overly perfumed, while many simply lacked the depth, character and quality we had experienced abroad. We knew that exceptional incense and fragrance products were out there, but finding them required time, patience and plenty of trial and error.
And so, our search began.

We have spent considerable time exploring, sourcing and personally trying a wide variety of incense, fragrance oils, scented candles and other products for the home. We have tested countless options, searching for those that genuinely stand apart: products with character, quality and a scent that makes them worth experiencing.
The collection you see at MINGALA is the result of that journey. These are products we have chosen because we appreciate them ourselves, use them in our own home and feel confident sharing with others.
We believe that buying fragrance should be an experience built on trust. You should not have to gamble on quality or wonder whether a product will live up to its promise. Our aim is simple: to bring together a carefully considered collection of scents that deliver genuine enjoyment, excellent quality and real value for money.

We want MINGALA to be a place where you can discover those experiences.
We are continually searching for new, interesting and distinctive products, including hidden gems from smaller makers and lesser-known sources that may not have the visibility or marketing reach of larger brands. We look beyond the obvious, always searching for something special, and we only want to share products that meet our expectations.
Our collection will continue to evolve as we discover new scents, explore new sources and find new favourites worth sharing with you.
A journey that is only just beginning
While we are proud of the collection we have brought together, we see this as the beginning of something much bigger.
We are already exploring opportunities with contacts and makers around the world to develop our own MINGALA-branded products. This is an exciting next step, and one we want to approach with the care and attention it deserves.
We could have rushed to launch our own range, but that has never been what MINGALA is about. We want to get it right. Every fragrance, every detail and every product must live up to the standards we have set for ourselves and the trust we hope to earn from you.
